The Mulkanoor Cooperative Rural Bank and Marketing Society
Ltd. has truly established newer benchmarks in success for
the cooperative movement. Though it under government control
through the existing cooperative law, yet it has ably demonstrated
that it can survive and flourish in spite of the negative
impact of State policies and procedures.
A shining example of synthesizing the cooperative spirit
with meritocratic democracy, the co-operative has consistently
ensured the safeguarding of interests of its members. While
zealously working for the economic and social requirements
of its member-farmers, it has set and evolved certain values
and principles of organizing cooperative institutions. It
has withstood several testing times mainly due to the leadership
of Sri Vishwanatha Reddy and the cementing democracy of its
members. The great record of Mulkanoor is unheard of legend
in the history of cooperation in either Andhra Pradesh or
India, save for a few exceptionally reputed societies. Natural
when you consider that the society hasn't only understood
and applied the co-operative spirit in the true sense of the
word, but also because it has really managed to articulate
and explain it to all its members.
