MARKETING SERVICES :

From the very days of inception, led by the pioneering vision of the Founder, Sri Vishwanatha Reddy, the society has always realized that there is only one way to produce a significant increase in the financial returns of its members and that is through aggressive marketing. In keeping with this mindset, the society offers a number of marketing services to its members, basically aimed at eliminating middle men, procuring the best rates for the produce of members and value addition to the produce through processing.

One of the main benefits to the members is that the produce is purchased in the villages at their door step, stored in the villages itself (the society has godowns in each of the 14 villages). This not only saves time but also the transportation cost to the members.

The society’s marketing services are unique and are beneficial to the members in that the produce from the members is purchased at a higher rate than the market and either partly or fully adjusted to the loan outstanding of the member. This has many advantages like

  • Member gets higher rate than the market
  • Saves transportation costs to members
  • Saves storage costs to members
  • The credit history is maintained well that will help the member in subsequent loans.
The society’s marketing services cover related activities like
Purchase of paddy from members
Processing of this paddy at the society owned Rice Mills into rice that is sold in the market
Purchase of cotton from members
Ginning of the cotton at society owned cotton ginning plants and then selling it in the market
Purchase of Maize from members
Selling this Maize in the market at favourable prices
Production, processing and marketing of paddy seed.

The intervention of the society for welfare of members through its marketing services is one of the main reasons for the agrarian prosperity in these 14 villages. For instance, when the society purchases the paddy produced by its members, stores it, processes it and sells it in the market, members make significant savings in time, weighment, grading and transport. Moreover, they are paid a bonus on the prevailing market price for their produce! The bonus is given at 45/- per quintal on Paddy, 50/- per quintal on paddy seed and 100/- per quintal on cotton.

The society owns a raw rice mill plant and a par boiled rice mill plant (Satake technology, Japan) for processing activities. It also has more than 32,000 metric tones of storage space, a fleet of 6 trucks and 1 tractor, 2 modernized seed processing plants with a capacity of four tones each and a cotton ginning plant.
