ORGANISATION
STRUCTURE :
From a movement that had just 375 members and a share capital
of less than Rs. 2300 at the time of its birth, today the
society has grown to being a collective of 6166 members with
a share capital of nearly Rs. 220 lakhs. Much of this success
can be ascribed to the organization structure of the society,
which apart from being participative, responsible, democratic
and visionary is also successful at the end of the day!
The society functions on a simple model, as follows:
The cooperative originally registered under the Andhra Pradesh
Cooperative Societies Act of 1964 has been converted to Andhra
Pradesh Mutually Aided Cooperative Societies Act 1995 on 5-6-1995
a liberal parallel cooperative act
There is a democratic voting body of 6166 members from the
14 villages, form the General Body.
This body elects a Governing Body of 15 members, also known
as the Board of Directors. This committee has a President
with a term of 5 years and once in every 20 months there are
elections to 5 seats in the Managing Committee on a staggered
basis. The society's Managing Committee makes the policy decisions
and the posts of president and committee members are honorary.
The president is morally and historically (in legacy with
the founder’s example) bound to put in several hours
each day at the cooperative society and the committee members
are also available for consultation and interaction with the
members in their respective villages.
For dusk-to-dawn smooth functioning, this structure is again
under-pinned by a General Manager and 110 employees who take
care of the society's day-to-day activities and way of work.
It is very heartening to know that in the Audits conducted
by Cooperative department officers, the society has been rated
as A class under audit classification since 1957
Also, in a way not really understood by those who have never
interacted with the society out there in the wilderness called
Mulukanoor, like almost everything successful here, this organization
structure owes its longevity to the pioneering vision of Shri
Vishwanatha Reddy.
